ONNA STAKEHOLDERS CALL FOR EPHRAIM INYAN-EYEN’S RESIGNATION

…PLEDGE LOYALTY TO GOVERNOR EMMANUEL AND HIS PREFERRED SUCCESSOR, PASTOR UMO ENO

Rising from an emergency meeting that stretched into the early hours of today at the Carabana Hotel in Uyo,, Stakeholders from the three Clans that make up ONNA Local Government, Oniong, Nnung Ndem and Awa have called on the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ephraim Inyang-Eyen to resign his appointment immediately.

In a Communiqué signed by  the Stakeholders comprising,  the House Member representing Eket Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Abuja and BOT Member of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Rt. Honourable Pat, Ifon,  the House Member, representing ONNA State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Otuekong Nse Essien,  former Member, representing Eket Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Owoidighe Ekpoattai, Secretary of the PDP in Akwa Ibom State, Hon. Harrison Ekpo,  Chairman of ONNA Local Government Area, Hon. Iniabasi Ekanem, the Leader of the ONNA Legislative Council,  Hon. Colins Emmanuel, former Chairman the Council, Obong Mfon Unaidet, Obong Akanainyene Idem, Barrister Ini Ikott, Retired Permanent Secretary, and SSA, SUBEB,  Elder Ezekiel Umoh, former Secretary of the Council, Elder Nelson Ntia, the President of Afigh Iwaad Eket, Obongiwad Etienne Bob, several Councillors and others, the Stakeholders, observed with dismay the open disloyalty and unguarded utterances made by the Chief of Staff,  which  shows him  as lacking circumspection and proper judgement.

“Mr. Inyang -Eyen should have learned by now that serving in a government as an appointee of the Governor is a different ball game; it demands civility, and the highest level of loyalty and circumspection. While Mr. Inyang- Eyen has the right to aspire to any political office, he is not entitled to insulting and deliberately manufacturing falsehood against the Governor and the Government while still serving in the employ of the State.” Enough!

The Stakeholders reaffirmed their unflinching support, confidence and loyalty to the State Governor, Mr. Udom Udom Emmanuel and his preferred Successor in the 2023 Gubernatorial elections, Pastor Umo Eno.
