GOODWILL MESSAGE ON DEMOCRACY DAY
I, on behalf of my family, the government and people of ONNA Local Government Area, I heartily felicitate with His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno and His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on this auspicious occasion of democracy day celebration and one year in office as Governor of Akwa Ibom State and President of Federal Republic Nigeria respectively.
Firstly, I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to Governor Umo Eno for his dedication and commitment towards the development of our great state, Akwa Ibom. Under your leadership, significant strides have been made in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, tourism and other key sectors, leading to the overall upliftment of the lives of our people. Your administration’s Arise Agenda has also paved the way for economic growth, succour for our citizens. Your relentless efforts in ensuring peace and uniting the state are truly commendable.
Similarly, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his steadfast leadership, guiding our beloved nation through the path of democracy. Your commitment to the principles of democracy, transparency and accountability has been instrumental in fostering national development. Despite the surmountable obstacles and challenges plaguing our nation today and conscious of the innumerable efforts and sacrifices of the forerunners of our democracy, we are thankful and appreciative of the freedom, peace and vast development we enjoy as end products of democracy under your leadership. We appreciate your commitment to the maintenance of peace and stability of the nation.
I would use this opportunity to appreciate the state and federal governments for their support to the local government areas in Akwa Ibom State. Through various developmental initiatives, infrastructure projects, and capacity-building efforts, we have witnessed significant improvements in our local communities. These interventions have helped in enhancing the living standards of our people, providing them with better healthcare, education, and basic amenities. We are grateful for your contributions towards our growth and development.
On behalf of the entire people of ONNA Local Government Area, I extend our warmest wishes to you both, as well as to the citizens of Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria at large, on this joyous occasion of democracy day celebration. May our democracy continue to flourish and may our nation prosper under your visionary leadership.
