2023: ONIONG WEST 2 IN ONNA DECLARE UNFLINCHING SUPPORT TOWARDS GOVERNOR UDOM’S SUCCESSOR

It was a unique gathering, more of a breakfast meet as the political magnum of Oniong West 2 in ONNA Local Government Area unanimously subscribe to the Completion Agenda and Succession Plan of His Excellency, Mr. Udom Emmanuel.
The meet was at the instance of Hon. Kingsley Johnny, MPM Ward Coordinator for Oniong West 2, and Hon. Friday Robinson, Councillor representing Oniong West 2 at ONNA Legislative Council and had political stalwarts of the Peoples Democratic Party in attendance.
Setting the tone for the gathering, Hon. Kingsley Johnny said he is pleased to have everyone respond to the invite and timely too. He explained that the meet is geared towards reiterating the stand of the Ward towards the completion and succession activities of the governor.
The high point of the event was a vote of overwhelming confidence raised by the Deputy Coordinator of MPM in the Ward, Engr Emmanuel Robinson, citing the tangible dividends of democracy courtesy of the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel; roads construction, health care, human capacity development, industrialization, education and most importantly the sustained peace in the state and a resolve to support the succession plan to the later. The motion was seconded by the student representative of MPM in the Ward, Comrade Zion Ufot and was welcome with a rousing applause by all in attendance.
Hon. Otu Daniel, an Adviser of MPM in the Ward also informed that the governor plays a pivotal role in the politics of who succeeds him “I urge people of the three towns – Akpabom, Ukpana and Ikot Abasi – to move with the governor and ultimately support Pastor Umo Bassey Eno as his successor come 2023 elections”.
Hon. Kingsley Johnny attested to the accessible and humane nature of Pastor Umo Eno as a reason for queuing behind him. He pleaded with the people to be firm in thier support so that collectively they can perfect the succession plan of the governor.
According to Prince Moses Asuquo Efik “I have made up my mind to support the choice of His Excellency regarding who akes over from him in 2023, I’m also optimistic that the reward system shall be lofty for each and everyone of us in due time”
Also speaking, Engr. Johnny Etuk stated that collectively we have more than enough reason to celebrate the Executive Governor of this State as there exist litany of success stories with our communities as beneficiaries. “A thank you is to reciprocate the gesture by supporting his succession plan” he concluded
References were made towards the ongoing PDP E-Registration and INEC Continuous Voters Registration Exercises with a call for more proactive approach at getting more persons on the registration list.
Take home from the meet was the readiness of all to support the succession plan, vote during the elections, protect the votes and deliver their embloc votes to the governor’s choices come 2023.
