Much ado has been said about the aspiration of Mr. Sunday Johnny, who is aspiring to speak for the good people of Onna at the State House of Assembly come 2023.

The latest comes from Governor Udom Emmanuel’s Political Leader and former Chairman of Onna Local Government Council, Bishop (Hon) Ufot Sunday, during a consultation visit at his Osongama residence.

Speaking on behalf of the campaign team, Hon Courage Inam extolled the sterling qualities of the Chairman and his resolute to stand for the truth always irrespective of whose ox is cored . He further sorts for his blessings, endorsement, and support.

Reacting, Bishop Ufot Sunday speaks highly of the intended parliamentarian, saying, “Johnny is a man I love so much, and he is so sincere and honest and will have my support”.

Ufot went further to clear the air on some critics of some sections being marginalized. If there’s any section of Onna that has being marginalized as far as House of Assembly is concerned is Awa Afaha Clan.

Taking stock critically, Awa Afaha has never been given an opportunity since the 3rd republic in 1999, and it is fair and just for the right thing to be done.

In 1999 to 2003, Barrister Ini Ikot from Nung Ndem Clan was the Member representing Onna in the House of Assembly.

In 2003 to 2007, It was Prince Akpabio Udo Ukpa from Onniong Clan.

2007 to 2011, Hon Bassey Akpan Willie from Onniong Clan took another turn.

From 2011 to 2015, a former PDP Chairman, Hon Godwin Oton Charlie from Onniong again became the House Member for three consecutive times.

In 2015 until date, Rt Hon Nse Essien from Asuna Nung Oku Clan took a turn and now, what happens to Awa Afaha Clan?

It is only right and just for Awa Asuna Clan to take a turn in 2023 and Sunday Johnny is the man that I will give my support – Ufot Sunday
