A COMMUNIQUÉ ISSUED AT THE END OF THE MEETING OF ONIONG PEOPLES FORUM ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 26TH 2022 AT IKOT EKO IBON, ONNA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA.
Members of Oniong Peoples Forum in ONNA Local Government Area, held a general meeting of the forum at the instance of the Chairman of ONNA Local Area, Hon (Elder) Iniabasi Ekanem on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Ikot Eko Ibon.
The meeting appraised the developmental strides of His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel, his completion agenda and succession plan.
They also considered the adoption of Pastor Umo Bassey Eno as their preferred candidate in the 2023 governorship elections and emerging political developments in the clan and resolved as follows:
1. That the people of Oniong Clan in ONNA Local Government Area are grateful for the superlative performance of His Excellency Mr Udom Gabriel Emmanuel in the state and local government area, particularly in the areas of road construction, infrastructure, industrialization and human capital development.
2. That the people of Oniong Clan are in support of the completion agenda of His Excellency, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel and Pastor Umo Bassey Eno as his preferred successor in the 2023 gubernatorial elections.
3. Mandate all stakeholders to support, mobilise and sensitise people in their wards and villages to participate in the ongoing e-registration (PDP, NIN and Voters Card).
4. Reaffirmed that Oniong Clan has two political units (Oniong East and Oniong West) and are solidly behind His Excellency, Mr Udom Gabriel Emmanuel and the PDP.
