DEPUTY LEADER SEVENTH ONNA LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY TAKES GRASSROOT SPORTS TO ANOTHER LEVEL
Hon. Tony Akpabot, the Deputy Leader of ONNA Legislative Assembly treated his constituents to an Inter-Village football competition dubbed “Hon. Tony Akpabot Football Tournament 2021”
The tournament had teams from across Afaha Inang Group of Villages in the old Awa Ward 2 political division of Onna.
The kickoff of the final encounter was done by Obong Uwem Uquang at Ikot Idem Udo primary school. He admonish the people to continually imbibe the spirit of unity and asked that fairplay be upheld.
Hon. Tony is the progenitor of “Akam Isua Itiaita” a social mobilisation vehicle at the grassroot with the sole aim of propagating the Completion Agenda of His Excellency, Mr Udom Emmanuel. He promised to network for every village within his ward to have a standard training pitch for sports development.
The coveted trophy went to Afaha Ikot Nkang after demolishing Afaha Atai during regulation time.
The PDP Ward Chairman of Awa Ward 3, Deacon Wisdom Micheal and Wife, Mary Micheal graced the occasion. The Local Organizing Committee Chairman, Comrade Isang Udonquak thanked the sponsor, the guests and indeed all football lovers for finding time to watch the final. He promised a better outing next time.
