GOV. UDOM EMMANUEL EMPOWERS 600 FEMALE YOUTHS WITH SEED CAPITAL

No fewer than 600 female youths in Akwa Ibom State have been financially empowered with seed capital for businesses by Governor UDOM Emmanuel . This is in fulfillment of the governor’s promise to empower Akwa Ibom Female Youths especially at the grassroots for self-reliance.

At the event which took place Wednesday, at the banquet hall of Government House, the governor was represented by his wife, Her Excellency, Dr. Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel.

Speaking on behalf of the Governor, the First Lady said the financial empowerment was another strategic module of the Governor to inject life into the grassroots, saying the empowerment is done out of his passion to impact young women positively.

The governor’s wife added that the beneficiaries of the program were selected from all the wards of the 31 Local Government Areas, noting that the gesture would be done at regular intervals to accommodate all female youths in the state.

She advised the female youth beneficiaries to make prudent use of the funds received by investing it wisely; pointing out that the government would not relent in its efforts of empowering young women in the state.

Dr. Emmanuel who described the governor as gender-friendly, also took out time to appreciate the him for always supporting the womenfolk and keeping to his promise of empowering them, praying that God will bless and reward his labour of love.

She charged the female youths to be of good character, shun blackmail and pulling down of one another, saying as the governor’s wife, she will not relent in ensuring that they are well groomed and positioned for the future both politically and economically.

Earlier in her remarks, the President of Akwa Ibom State Female Youths, Comrade Esther Nta, thanked the governor and wife for their love and massive investments in the female youths of the state, saying the scores of lives touched by the administration is mind blowing.

In their separate goodwill messages, the Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Felicia Bassey, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare Dr. Ini Adiakpan , and the SSA to the Governor on Skills Acquisition, Hon. Alice Ekpeyong, all appreciated God for the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel, noting that the governor and wife have years positively touched the lives of women across the state.
