Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Dr. Ini Adiakpan was inaugurated as member of the Steering Committee of Maintain Peace Movement, Esit Eket Chapter.The colourful event which had illustrious sons and daughters of the area in attendance took place today, September, 8th at Esit Eket Council Hall. Dr. Adiakpan, an illustrious daughter of the soil among others who made the list were inaugurated with a charge to use their capacities to ensure the peace creed of Governor Udom Emmanuel is sustained. In his charge, Chairman of the Maintain Peace Movement, Barrister Emmanuel Enoidem noted that the task of maintaining peace in the State should not be a mantra for the government alone but a collective drive of all citizens. Enoidem who was filled with gratitude to the governor for keeping to his promise of ensuring citizens enjoy full pack of peace, implored all the inaugurated members and party faithfuls not to lose faith in the administration of Mr Emmanuel but rather pray for him to choose a credible successor who will continue in his good legacies. The MPM Chairman further charged them to key into the continuous voters registration as it forms a strong base for the success of the forthcoming electoral process.
Responding, Chairman of MPM Esit Eket LGA, Rt. Hon. Iniobong Robson pledged his unalloyed appreciation to the Governor for birthing the initiative which according to him, will help to foster peace in the State.
Robson vowed to use the office assigned him to preach the message of peace at all levels.
