ONNA 2024: Nung Ndem Ward 1, 2, and Awa 2 Pledge Resolute Support for Kufre Umoren and Other PDP Candidates

As the October 5th Local Government polls approach, the PDP Ward Rally in ONNA Local Government Area continues with great fervor.
In a heartfelt tribute led by Obong Barr Ubong Adiakpan, a minute of silence was observed at every venue in honor of the late First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Late Patience Umo Eno, with prayers for her soul to rest in the bosom of Abraham.

Kufre Umoren, accompanied by his wife and running mate, was warmly received by the crowd. He outlined his action plan, focusing on education, youth development, women empowerment, senior citizens’ welfare, and critical infrastructure. “Agriculture is key to food security. We’ll provide farm tools, improved seedlings, and fertilizer to farmers. Our senior citizens and infants will have access to adequate healthcare at no cost, and education will be central to my administration,” he emphasized.
Lady Mfon Uko, Vice Chairmanship candidates, a proud daughter of Nung Ndem Ward 1 affirmed the preparedness of the chairman to build bridges of progress, unity and development.

Hon. Kingsley Johnny, Chapter Chairman of the party, sensitized the crowd on voting procedures and set the tone for the rally. Elder Nelson Ntia, leading the Great Grace Campaign Organization, highlighted Kufre Umoren’s humility and prudence. “He’s a young man ready for service, concerned about circulation to improve accessibility and boost businesses,” Elder Nelson echoed.

Rt. Hon. Imo Attat, former chairman and political leader of Nung Ndem 2, affirmed Kufre Umoren as the right choice. “Not all aspirants are vying to serve; some just seek popularity. But in Kufre Umoren, you see the desire to bring public good to all,” he stated.

Barr. Ini Ikott, former member of AKHA and Ward leader of Nung Ndem 1, declared victory for Kufre Umoren and Emmanuel Macaulay.
Dr. Nathaniel Adiakpan, former Permanent Secretary of Government House and Awa Ward 2’s political leader, praised Kufre Umoren’s youthfulness and trustworthiness. “Kufre is a tested hand to be trusted with resources. The women and the youths make up a greater percentage of our voting population, and they have unanimously endorsed all PDP candidates.”
The SA to the governor on Women Mobilization, Rev. (Mrs.) Rose Wills, echoed the sentiment of ONNA women, saying, “Women are eager to vote for PDP come October 5th. We are happy with the choice of Lady Mfon Uko as running mate to Kufre Umoren.”
Mr. Enobong Umoetuk, former commissioner in the state, expressed confidence that “Nung Ndem has a sound history of support for PDP. History will repeat itself again as we shall return chairman, vice, and councillor elected.”
Mrs. Anthony, former chairman of ONNA LGA, made the bold statement, “We are happy to have our daughter as vice chairmanship candidate. As such, we have a date in history to vote for PDP massively.”

Elder Ekerette Ituen (JP) stated, “We have always been in the winning party since 1999; this won’t be an exception. Kufre Umoren’s needs assessment initiative is legendary, and we pray for the actualization of that document.”

The rally’s highlight was the flag presentation to councillorship candidates:
– Kate Sunday Ekanem, councillorship candidate for Nung Ndem 2
– Emmanuel Akpan Macaulay, councillorship candidate for Nung Ndem 1
– Anietie Nse Timothy, councillorship candidate for Awa 2
The event was attended by notable political heavyweights, including Obong Godwin Ben (Black), Comrade Samuel Umoffia (JP), Hon. Augustine Uffang, who led the ONNA Transition Committee Members, Barr. Ubong Adiakpan, Obongiwaad Usoro Paulinus, Dr. (Mrs.) Iniabasi Ekanem, Mr. Umoette Umoette, Comrade Ikpe, College of PA II led by their Dean, Elder Ekerette Ituen (JP); Great Grace Ward Coordinators forum led by the Dean, Arc. Mfon Akpabio; Comrade Nkanang Nkanang, Mr. Enobong Umoetuk, Akwa Obongawan Patience Ukpa, Obongawan Patience Ekpo, Hon. Okon Williams, Akparawa Ekerette Udo Ekpo, Dr. Willie Willie, forum of PDP councillorship candidates, former political office holders, traditional fathers, women groups, and youth groups ably led by Comrade Anthony Ekpo.
The acceptability that Great Grace Campaign Organization is enjoying is an indicator that Kufre is poised to bring progressive change to ONNA Local Government Area.
