OCTOBER 5 LG POLL: ONNA REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO PDP
As the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State intensifies its campaign for the upcoming local government elections on October 5, the leaders and people of ONNA Local Government Area have reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening the party’s roots in the area and ensuring a resounding victory at the polls.
At the campaign rally held earlier today, Thursday, September 26, 2024 the people of ONNA, speaking through their leaders, emphasized the area’s unwavering commitment to the PDP, citing the remarkable gains achieved under the party’s leadership over the past two and a half decades.
Rt. Hon. Pat Ifon, Member of the PDP Board of Trustees, reiterated the party’s resolve, saying, “We know what needs to be done, and we will do just that on October 5, 2024. We will vote for all our councilors and Mr. Kufre Umoren for chairmanship. I also appreciate our Governor for the free food ONNA LGA received yesterday. God bless Akwa Ibom State.”
Rt. Hon. Nse Essien, immediate past member representing ONNA in the state assembly, expressed confidence in the party’s preparedness for the polls. “PDP in ONNA Local Government Area is fully prepared for October 5, 2024. As rightful stakeholders, we are confident of emerging victorious. We will win.”
Hon. Emem Almond Bob, Commissioner for Economic Development, attributed ONNA’s commitment to the PDP to the area’s notable connections to the party. “With a former Governor of Akwa Ibom State from here and a Board of Trustee member of the party, we are poised to deliver on October 5. We thank the Governor for his remarkable achievements in ONNA.”
Hon. (Deaconess .) Owoidighe Ekpotai, former House of Representatives Member, echoed the sentiments of ONNA’s women, saying, “On October 5, we are saying it’s PDP all the way. We have the numbers, the zeal, and the push to deliver all our candidates. Kufre Umoren, carry go! All our councillorship candidates, carry go!”
