The Akpabio Ukpa Sports Stadium in ONNA came alive as Akwa Ibom Allstars Confederation family from across the state gathered for a momentous occasion. The inauguration ceremony kicked off with an exhilarating football match between the home team and the Akwa Ibom State Allstars Confederation.
Apostle Dr. Elijah Jack, the guest of the day, was captivated by the football artistry displayed by the recreational sports outfit. In a generous gesture, he showered the team with gifts and rewarded the home team’s goalkeeper, TPL Itiat Itiat, for his outstanding performance in stopping a penalty kick.
Not to be outdone, Hon Nda Nda, Chairman of ONNA Local Football Council, added to the goodwill by increasing the bonus for the goal tender. Earlier, Hon Nda had donated a fresh set of jerseys to the club, which the team proudly wore during their victory over the visiting opponents.
Both Apostle Elijah Jack and Hon Nda Nda stand as pillars of support for the recreational sports outfit, contributing positively to the community.
At the clubhouse, the newly elected executive members, led by Mr. Henshaw Williams, were sworn in by Barrister Akwaowo Ikott.
Additionally, Mr. Kufre Umoren received a branded jersey of the home team in recognition of his commitment and pledge to further the ante of sports development when elected as ONNA Council Boss.
Among the distinguished guests present were Mr. Kufre Umoren, the PDP Chairmanship Candidate for ONNA (represented by Comrade Ime Umoren), Hon Ime Inoh (President General of the Akwa Ibom Allstars Confederation), Hon Kingsley Johnny (PDP Chapter Chairman ONNA and Treasurer of the Akwa Ibom Allstars Confederation), Mr. Wilfred Inyang (National Officer of the Super Eagles Supporters Club), Hon Imo Attat (former Chairman of ONNA Local Government), Chief Ini Akpabio, and Arc Mfon Akpabio, along with other football enthusiasts.
