ANNOUNCING ONNA WOMEN’S DAY, 2024: INSPIRE INCLUSION
Globally, women had long understood the power of unity and oneness amongst themselves and had moved to deployed this collective strength to defy the once solid gates of Culture, Stereotype and Societal constraints against their gender. History is littered with many emancipatory movement led by visionary women groups. We understand, even today, that if the woman must take her rightful place, she must not downplay the efficacy and efficiency of sisterhood and the enduring love thereof.
For the past few years, the women of ONNA Local Government; through this knowledge; have been active actors in this noble cause for womanhood. They have form the ritual of bringing themselves together in the grandest way possible, to celebrate their wins culturally, politically, economically and otherwise. We believe, that to leverage from the solid strength embedded in womanhood, the women need to dutifully come together, educating, celebrating and empowering one another.
As always, this year, the ONNA Women Leaders Forum, the umbrella body charged with the responsibility of women advocacy and support in Onna Local Government is announcing “ONNA WOMEN’S DAY, 2024” with the theme: INSPIRE INCLUSION. This grand gathering of women in ONNA Local Government is billed to hold on the 26th of March, 2024 at the Akpabio Ukpa International Sport Stadium, Abat, by 11AM, Nigerian Time.
The event will have His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State as the Special Guest of Honour while Her Excellency, Pst.(Mrs) Patience Umo Eno, wife of the governor, will be the Mother of the Day. Her Excellency, Sen. Akon Eyakenyi PhD, deputy governor of Akwa Ibom State will serve as the Guest of Honour while Hon. Sunday Johnny, Member ONNA State Constituency/Leader, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly will be the Chairman of the Occasion. Immediate past First-lady of the State, Her Excellency, Dr.(Mrs) Martha Udom Emmanuel is the Grand patron of the group. Mrs idorenyin Ekanem PhD is wife of the Chairman ONNA Transition Committee while Hon. Owoidighe Ekpoattai PhD, is the Chairman Central Planning Committee and Announcer.
