Fejiro Oliver: Media Trial of Udom Emmanuel Won’t Guarantee Your Paycheck.
As a private citizen who witnessed Udom Emmanuel’s exemplary leadership as governor of Akwa Abasi Ibom State, I feel compelled to speak out. Mr. Emmanuel’s era was marked by probity, accountability, prudence, and excellence.
With his impressive background in finance, Mr. Emmanuel is an embodiment of the values that underpin the financial institution. He holds a Master’s Degree in Corporate Governance from Leeds Metropolitan University, UK, and is a renowned financial expert. Before venturing into politics, he was a defining figure in Nigeria’s financial services sector, holding various director positions at Zenith Bank and its subsidiaries.
Mr. Emmanuel’s achievements in the private sector are verifiable and based on global best practices. His elevation to Executive Director at Zenith Bank is a testament to his expertise. It’s disheartening to see Fejiro Oliver and NACAT’s ill-conceived petition, which reeks of sectional persecution and a blatant attempt to tarnish Mr. Emmanuel’s image.
Fejiro Oliver’s modus operandi is to profit from smearing the reputations of icons. However, I’m optimistic that Mr. Emmanuel will be his last target, as facts ultimately prevail over lies.
In conclusion, Udom Emmanuel was a remarkable governor who remains an icon worthy of respect. His influence in international financial institutions and his thoughts on global issues align with those of Wall Street’s financial elite. I challenge Fejiro Oliver to inform the EFCC about Mr. Emmanuel’s achievements, including making Akwa Ibom State the only sub-national entity to own a thriving commercial airline, Ibom Air.
It is on record that, Mr Udom Emmanuel, at the twilight of his administration ordered an audit of funds expendeded on every project in every ministries for the past eight years and the report is there in the public domain.
