Afaha Innang Community Secondary School Gets a Facelift as Onna Council Boss Commissions Project Executed by Hon. Aniekan Hanson
Joyous community leaders, staff, and students of Afaha Innang Secondary School, Ikot Idem Udo, welcomed Onna Council Boss, Hon. Kufre Umoren, as he commissioned and handed over the newly revamped school gate house, refurbished by the Councillor representing Awa 3, Onna Legislative Council, Hon. Aniekan Akpan Hanson.
In his remarks, the chairman applauded the dexterity of Hon. Hanson for executing the project and urged the school community to uphold godly tenets. The chairman was represented by his Vice, Lady Hon. Mfon Uko.
According to Hon. Hanson, the revamping of the school gate house was one of his campaign promises to his people. He recounted the significant history surrounding the gate house during his days as a student, which prompted him to add it to his To-Do list and ensure its renovation.
Hon. Aniekan Hanson thanked the Chairman of Onna Local Government Council, Hon. Kufre Umoren, who, in his first 100 days in office, has done excellently well for the people of Onna. He also announced the support sent by the Political Leader of Awa 3, Mr. Ekerette Udoh, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State.
The principal of the school, Mrs Eno Christopher Akpan described the donor as an incredible gentleman who is always ready to assist the students and staff of the school.
Goodwill messages were delivered by the Leader of the 8th Legislative Assembly, Hon. Samuel Felix; Chapter Chairman of PDP, Elder (Hon.) Kingsley Johnny; Ward Chairman, Mr. Obio Ekpo; Former Onna Council Secretary, Hon. Nda Nda; Chairman of the Society of Engineers, Eket branch, Dr. (Engr.) Ekerette Usak; immediate past House Leader of the 7th Assembly, Hon. Inam Edeminam; and the representative of the women’s group, Mrs. Rose Macaulay.
Hon. (MC) Godwin Ben, Councillor representing Oniong East 1, who also served as the official compere, informed the audience of the presence of all Councillors of the Onna 8th Legislative Council, former councillors, Special Adviser to the Chairman on Grassroots Mobilisation, Mr. Richard Timothy, former Supervisors, Chapter Officers of PDP, Ward Officers of PDP, staff of the benefiting school, traditional rulers led by the Village Head of Afaha Ikot Idem Udo, women, and youths.
This gesture aligns with the Arise Agenda of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State.
