Pastor Uwem Andrew-Essien, Accountant General of Akwa Ibom State, has made it a yearly tradition to give back to his community during the yuletide season. This year was no exception, as he distributed generous packages to augment the festive meals of Awa Ward Six in ONNA Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
The ward, comprising six villages and known as the “vote basket of ONNA,” received the largesse in the presence of representatives from various sectors of the community, including elders, youths, and women. Pastor Andrew-Essien, accompanied by his wife, attributed the benevolence to the support his boss, His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno, received during the elections.
The event was marked by goodwill messages from dignitaries, including Elder (Engr.) Andrew-Essien Jr. and Eteidung Victor Attat, who praised Pastor Andrew-Essien’s work ethic. Rt. Hon. Utin Macaulay also commended the immediate past Governor, His Excellency Mr. Udom Emmanuel, for recognizing Pastor Andrew-Essien’s talent and providing him with a platform to excel.
Notable guests at the event included Deputy Chief Whip of ONNA Legislative Assembly Hon. (Evangelist) Abraham Duff, Personal Aide II to the Governor Hon. Samuel Umana, Chairman of ONNA Local Football Council Hon. Nda Nda, and Mr. Ukeme Andrew Essien, among others.
As the largesse was presented, community representatives offered prayers for the well-being and prosperity of Pastor Andrew-Essien and his household. His commitment to community service has earned him a reputation as a dedicated public servant, making him a beloved figure in the community.
The event concluded with guests enjoying sumptuous meals and drinks, accompanied by subtle music in commemoration of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
