This ‘amebo’ business I joined has become more interesting.
I was just there minding my business when some informant told SR that the Akwa Ibom Government budgeted N14.7 billion to renovate the Governor’s Lodge and buy SUVs for State Lawmakers.
I decided not to sit on the fence but join the talebearing ministry.
Thankfully, Commissioner for Works and Fire Service, Professor Eno Ibanga has made the 3rd part of my entry easier.
Let me now tell SR more things they ought to know.
They didn’t want SR to know that, in a bid to expand and maintain infrastructure, Governor Umo Eno has expended 47.93 billion on 36 projects inherited from previous administrations.
They haven’t told SR that another whooping
N4.04 Billion has been spread to 51 of the Emergency intervention Projects inherited from the immediate past administration.
Simply stated, a total of 51.96 Billion has been spent on the completion of inherited projects rather than designating them as abandoned projects.
They have not informed SR that 61 new projects have been executed by Governor Umo Eno’s Administration in pursuit of his Arise Agenda.
Four of these have since been completed and inaugurated, including:
■Akpan Andem Market
■Amphitheatre Christmas Village Arena
■Atiku Abubakar underground tunnel,
and
■Goretti Secondary School road
They wouldn’t tell SR that N151.66 Billion has been released by this administration to finance 50 of the FGPC ARISE Agenda Projects.
SR have to know that N4.54 billion Naira has been spent on 11 Emergency Intervention ARISE Agenda Projects.
This brings the total to N156.20 billion disbursed on the ARISE Agenda Projects.
To share Professor Ibanga’s report, a cumulative sum of N208.16 billion has been invested in both the initiated and inherited projects, as of October 18th 2024.
Let’s tell SR that a considerable number of these verifiable projects will soon be inaugurated among which are:
-The 6.97km Ukpana – Akpabom – Ikwe road with 30m span bridge in ONNA and Mkpat Enin LGA
-The 2.45km internal roads at Block G, Anua Ifa Ikot Okpon Housing Estate, Uyo.
-3.6km Ikot Obio Offong-Nung Ukana (Spur I to Ikot Obio Odongo) – Abaukpo – (Spur II to Afaha Ikot Owop) – Obetok – Obongntong – Enen Nsit – Afaha Udoeyop – Afaha Offong Road in Ibesikpo Asutan LGA.
-10.519km Mkpat Enin-Ikot Ubo-Ikot Ntot-Nkikara Road in Mkpat Enin/Ikot Abasi LGA
-9.76km Anciliary Roads with 60m Bridge in Nsit Ubium LGA with additional Road measuring 2.3km
-4.95km Ekparakwa – Ntak Ibesit Road in Oruk Anam LGA.
-2.9km Secretariat Okuko II – Events Road with Spur in Urue-Offiong/Oruko LGA
-22.75km Ikot Ekaide – Ikot Okoro – Ibritam Road with two bridges in Oruk Anam LGA
We pledge to inform SR whenever the Ministry of Information and Strategy publishes the dates and venues for their respective inauguration.
