Rededication of ONNA LG Council: A New Beginning with Hon. Kufre Umoren as Council Boss
I am Hon. Kufre Umoren, reporting for duty as the ONNA Council Boss.
The 17th of October, 2024, will be remembered as a remarkable day as elites from all walks of life in ONNA converged for the maiden solemn assembly to usher in Hon. Kufre Umoren’s administration. The event, themed “A New Beginning,” brought together political leaders, traditional rulers, religious figures, women, and youths to seek divine direction for the administration going forward.
Rev. Ntia Ntia, Senior Pastor of Full Life Christian Church, delivered a sermon titled “The Blessing of a New Beginning.”
In his speech, Hon. Kufre Umoren invited God to oversee the affairs of the local government. “I am very conscious of the burden of expectation and the huge responsibility placed on my shoulders. It is for this reason that we decided to organize this event,” he stated.
The Council Chairman pledged to draw inspiration from the Arise Agenda and align with Governor Umo Eno’s leadership to make ONNA a model of development. “I will take a lot of inspiration from the Arise Agenda, and we will work under the leadership of His Excellency the Governor to ensure that ONNA Local Government Area becomes a development hub,” he said.
Umoren declared a new beginning for the local government, by emphasizing love, prosperity, teamwork, positive results, and rapid development. He expressed gratitude to Governor Umo Eno and former Governor Udom Emmanuel for their support, promising to instill leadership that will open doors for other youths to be entrusted with leadership positions.
In his goodwill message, the Board of Trustees member of the PDP, Rt. Hon. Patrick Ifon, assured collaboration with the present administration for mutual success. “It is our intention to support you to succeed. Your success will be our success,” he said.
Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Dcns. Owoidighe Ekpoattai, a former House of Representatives member and Honourary Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture, urged constituents to support the Kufre Umoren-led administration and to offer constructive criticism when necessary.
The Paramount Ruler of ONNA, HRM Edidem Raymond Timothy Inyang, represented by HRH Etebom E. A. Itiat Udo Udang IV, applauded the strategic significance of a glorious start and called for unity for a peaceful administration.
Intercessory prayers for the new administration were led by various religious leaders, including Pastor Abigail Effanga, Apostle Elijah Udo, Pastor William Udoetuk, Pastor Enobong Ekpere, Pastor I. I. Jackson, and Pastor Akaninyene Joshua, with music renditions from the ONNA Council Choir and guest music ministers.
Rev. Ntia Ntia concluded his sermon by affirming that ONNA’s decision to dedicate its leadership to God would pave the way for success under Umoren’s guidance.
The Secretary of ONNA Local Government Council, Arch Mfon Akpabio, delivered a vote of thanks on behalf of the council.

A New Beginning for ONNA: Hon. Kufre Umoren has resumed duty as Chairman of ONNA Local Government Council.
