International Youth Day 2024: Samuel Umoffia Engages with Youth Leaders in ONNA
On the 13th of August, we celebrate International Youth Day—an initiative that recognizes the qualities of young people and acknowledges the challenges they face. Comrade Samuel Umoffia, Special Assistant to the Executive Governor on youth mobilization, interacted with Village Youth Presidents and Youth Leaders from various groups in ONNA Local Government Area.
As the theme for the 2024 International Youth Day was “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development.” Comrade Umoffia emphasized the importance of harnessing digital innovation to drive sustainable progress and create meaningful change.
During the interface, Empowerment Forms were distributed to the forty-two Village Youth Presidents and leaders of different youth groups. These forms align with the Arise Agenda of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State.
Comrade Umoffia commended the youth stakeholders for maintaining peace and security and for refraining from involvement in the #EndBadGovernance protest. The youth leaders also expressed confidence in the governor’s commitment to excellence and youth inclusivity in governance.

Jeptah Sambo (Supervisor for Youth and Sports, ONNA Transition Committee), Comrade Tony Ekpo (Chairman, ONNA Youth Council), and other youth leaders.
