“The lion roars, its mighty voice echoes through the land, a symbol of strength, courage, and resilience.”
The Asuna Nung Oku Clan comprises five villages from the Asuna group and six villages from the Nung Oku Itina group all in ONNA Local Government Area. Geographically, it is bounded by Awa Afaha Clan to the east, Qua Iboe River to the west, Mkpok village in Nung Ndem Clan to the south, and Mbioto II in Etinan L.G.A to the North. This politically vibrant Clan boasts an excellent village-to-ward ratio ideal for political permutation.
The people of Asuna Nung Oku are trailblazers, achieving excellence in various fields. They owe their strength and resilience to the immediate past Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel. His administration deemed it necessary to create the Clan, symbolized by a roaring lion, further igniting the spirit of its people.
Under the leadership of HRH Etebom (Hon) E. A. Itiat Udo Udang III, the Clan has witnessed remarkable progress over the past seven years. Recently, the political class recognized Asuna Nung Oku as the unit responsible and favored by zoning to throw up the Executive Chairman of ONNA in the upcoming Local Government Elections. With a rich pool of human resources and a legacy of dignified labor, the Clan aims to provide excellent leadership at the grassroots level as hinted in 2 KIngs of the Holy Book.
True to their emblem, the lions of Asuna Nung Oku are ready to roar, bringing hope and progress to the majority of ONNA.
