We celebrate the groundbreaking and foundation laying ceremony of the proposed Dr. Martha Udom Emmanuel’s Multipurpose Hall and Bakery in ONNA Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.
Much kudos to ONNA Women Stakeholders Forum, led by Dr. Idorenyin Ekanem, the wife of ONNA Transition Committee Chairman. Their commitment to promoting women’s participation in governance is commendable.
Rt. Hon. Dr. Owoidighe Ekpoattai, as the maiden chairman of the Building Committee, brings vitality to the forum while Engr. Ekaette Inyang oversees the engineering aspects of the project, leveraging her expertise for the betterment of the ONNA community.
The men in leadership within ONNA also play a crucial role. Elder (Hon) Sunday Johnny, Leader of AKHA; Mr. Emem Almond Bob, Honourable Commissioner for Economic Development; Elder (Hon) Iniabasi Ekanem, Chairman of ONNA Transition Committee; Rt. Hon. Patrick Ifon, Member of PDP Board of Trustees; and Mr. Ekerette Udo, Chief Press Secretary to Governor, collaborate synergistically, pooling resources, ideas, and networks.
The multipurpose hall, equipped with a bakery, will address confectionery needs while generating resources to support other social welfare programs outlined by the ONNA Women Stakeholders Forum. Dr. Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel, the forum’s patron, recognizes the bakery’s multifaceted role in today’s economic realities.
Elder (Hon) Iniabasi Ekanem, on behalf of the Council, generously donated 3000 square meters of land without encumbrance for the project’s execution.
During the foundation laying ceremony, Rt. Hon. Patrick Nathan Ifon, accompanied by Mr. Emem Bob and Elder Hon Iniabasi Ekanem, marked this significant milestone—all to the glory of God.
