ONNA Youths Urge Kufre Umoren to declare for Chairmanship race

… Insist on the Purchase of Nomination Form

Youths across the 42 villages of ONNA Local Government have impressed upon Mr Kufre UmorenΒ  to declare interest in contesting for the Chairmanship position in the next council elections in the state, stating that he is a pragmatic and visionary individual, who has the interest of the youthsΒ  and the people of ONNA at heart.



This position was made known on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Edet Akpan Avenue, Uyo when the unified youth structure paid an unscheduledΒ  visit to Mr Umoren.

Speaking at the visit, Comrade Akpan Ubak popularly referred to as King of Boys stated that Mr Umoren has shown enormous capacity and charisma in every responsibilities he has handled. He stressed that the time is now “youth o’clock”, hence their decision to rally support for him and urge him to aspire to lead them as the Chairman of ONNA Local Government Area.

Also speaking at the visit, Comrade Tony Ekpo, the Chairman, Youth Council, ONNA, noted that the youths have taken a unanimous decision to support Mr Umoren, as the state anticipates the next Council elections. He lauded the leadership qualities exhibited by Mr Umoren over the years,Β  urging all Elders, Stakeholders, Youths and women in ONNA to drum support for the aspiration of the youths.

While eulogising the positive strides of Mr Umoren,The youths insist on the purchase of the Nomination Form for Mr Umoren as a sign of their commitment to the course. The youths in a rather religious tone stressed “that one with God is a majority”, and cannot be defeated.
They urged Mr Umoren to eschew any form of fear and indecision.They also appealed to all ONNA sons and daughters who had interest in the Chairmanship race to please stand down their interest and support the youths in Mr Umoren to produce the chairman of council.

Responding, Mr Kufre Umoren thanked the youths for the unexpected visit and their wishes for him to lead the council. He expressed delight in knowing that they have noticed his little and sincere contributions toward the development of ONNA and the youths in particular.

He thanked them for what he described as an overwhelming support and endorsement for such a job, but appealed for time to enable him to think, pray and consider their request in which he further described as noble.

Highpoint of the visit was prayers for the Mr Umoren, songs of victory and exchange of pleasantries.
