I want to cease this opportunity to appreciate the effort of our players, the officials of ONNA FC and the teeming fans for their victory over Team Uruan today. This victory saw our team qualifying to the next round of the tournament and it is a feat worthy of every applause.
Despites our seemingly weak beginning, God has given us the ability to surmount the tough round of the Super 12. It is my belief that with hard work and the right incentives, our indomitable team will match on in victory even as we enter the next round of the tournament.
I also heartily commend the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, HE Pastor Umo Bassey Eno for rekindling the spirit of sport in the hearts and minds of every Akwa Ibom youth through the Governor’s Cup Tourney, 2023 edition.
