ONNA: Akpan Ubak, Tony Ekpo, and Ors commend Governor Umo Eno’s commitment to inclusive governance, urge greater youth inclusion in upcoming Local Government Elections/Transition.

Comrade Tony Ekpo, President of the ONNA Youth Council, and Chief Security Maritime Water Ways, Comrade Akpan Ubak (King of the Boys), hosted a gathering of youths from the forty two (42) villages in ONNA Local Government to celebrate His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno’s exceptional leadership acumen.

During an interview with journalists prior to the event, Comrade Tony Ekpo expressed his gratitude towards the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State for his outstanding leadership abilities and recent appointment of ONNA indigenes into his cabinet.

At the celebration, Comrade Anthony Ekpo expressed appreciation to the large turnout on short notice by urging village youth presidents to be vigilant in protecting government-provided properties as they would be held accountable if such are vandalized. He also emphasized that their gathering was necessary to thank them for their support during past elections.

Awa Afaha Clan Youth President Comrade Inyang Inyang spoke at the event expressing gratitude towards the immediate past governor for empowering youth presidents across all villages in ONNA during his tenure. He stressed that village youth president elections should should be an exercise that gets the full support of all stakeholders in the community and supervised by the Local Government Youth Council.

King of Boys Comrade Akpan Ubak addressed the youths appealing for patience as he believes appointments will reach ONNA youths at both state and local government levels creating growth and development opportunities among young people. He strongly emphasized unity among ONNA youth as proof of readiness for leadership positions while encouraging learned individuals to aspire towards upcoming Local Government Council elections as Chairmen and Councilors or to be appointed as Secretary of Council, Supervisors, Special Advisers, and Special Assistants.
Comrade Ubak specifically reminisce about the robust relationship youths enjoyed when Dcn. Udom Emmanuel held sway as governor of the state and solicit that Governor Umo Eno extend such to youths in ONNA.


The King of the boys also reiterated the need for concerted effort and extended security synergy with security operatives at checking the activities of pirates on our maritime waterways. Informing that fishermen and traders are counting their loses daily.
The meeting had representatives from all forty two villages present.
