The foundation, established by Obong (Barr.) Prince Uwem Essien more than two decades ago, focuses on empowering and uplifting marginalized groups such as youths, women, and children. It provides scholarships, mentorship programs, vocational training, and other resources aimed at ensuring a brighter future for these groups.
Obong Barr. Prince Uwem Essien is an elder statesman, a decorated community leader, a political bigwig, a seasoned legal luminary with network and social currency that spans the entire continents of the world. He hails from Nung Oku Ekanem Village, Nung Oku Itina Group of Villages, Asuna Nung Oku Clan, ONNA Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
The 2023 Quiz Competition took place at ONNA Peoples High School, Abat and they also emerged winners of the 2023 edition of the quiz competition after defeating all public and primary secondary schools within the administrative unit known as ONNA Local Government.
The competition covered various subjects, including science, history, geography, literature, and current affairs.
The competition aims to encourage healthy competition, teamwork, and the development of critical traits needed to shun social vices.
