AKWA IBOM STATE GOVERNMENT WELCOME UNICEF DELEGATION/REPRESENTATIVE

Hon Commissioner for Economy Development Mr Emem Almond Bob welcomed Mrs. Ada Ezeogu, the Nutrition Specialist from UNICEF Lagos/Rivers Field Office and Dr. Anselm Audu, Chief of UNICEF Rivers Field Office on Thursday, 19th October.

The meeting presented an opportunity to discuss the continued partnership between the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Government of Akwa Ibom State.

The dedication of both entities to improve the well-being of citizens, especially children, has been reaffirmed. UNICEF has promised to closely work with the Akwa Ibom State Government to achieve various goals in sectors they are involved in.

The partnership is expected to bring about a positive impact on the state.
During the meeting, Hon Commissioner Bob expressed his gratitude to UNICEF for their continued support and collaboration with the government in improving the lives of citizens, particularly children. He emphasized the importance of sustained efforts towards achieving common goals and objectives.

Mrs. Ezeogu and Dr. Audu both reiterated UNICEF’s commitment to working closely with the Akwa Ibom State Government in various sectors such as health, education, and child protection.

The partnership is expected to yield positive results, especially in reducing infant mortality rates and improving access to quality healthcare services for children in the state. Both parties agreed to continue exploring new areas of cooperation that will benefit the people of Akwa Ibom State.
