The entire people of Oniong East Ward 1 in ONNA LGA under the Leadership of Barr. Akan Idem congratulates His Excellency Pst UMO BASSEY ENO for the Overall Victory of PDP in the State and a successful swearing -in as Fifth Democratic Governor of Akwa Ibom State. The Ward also applauded the Former Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel for His Giant Strides and for putting Akwa Ibom State in the proper place on the geographical and historical Map of Nigeria.
The meeting commended the Ward Leadership and the Election Management Committee and the entire membership of Oniong East Ward 1 for their respective roles towards the overwhelming Success of the last Elections in the State.
The meeting also unanimously through a motion and unanimous decision reaffirmed Obong (Barr) Akan Idem as the political Leader of the Ward.
To foster the existing peace in the community, the meeting also dismissed rumors of a certain Former Lawmaker in the Ward who defected from the Party before the 2nd term Election of the immediate past Governor but recently returned to seek appointment as the Ward LEADER.
The meeting however, urged all Members of the Ward to support the current and Vibrant Leader to Unify and work with the party and Government at relevant levels to bring developmental projects, Manpower empowerment, and appeal to HE. Pst UMO BASSEY ENO to complete the Ndoneyo—Ikot Akpatek-Ikwe Odio Road already ongoing and initiated by the immediate past Governor.

The meeting was well attended with Some Major Stakeholders of the Ward and Dr. Grace Awaekpo– as one of the Stake holder made some Valuable contributions by appreciating the immediate past Governor for giving a good consent into the boundaries of Akwa Ibom State.
The meeting which began with an opening prayer by CSM Johnbull Akpan was brought to an end with a Closing Prayer by Elder Samuel Robert from Ikot Ntuen.
