Resilient CMA FC Share the Spoils With ASC FC to Keep Semi Final Hope Alive

Amidst several injuries to their star players, CMA FC strong showing at the ASUP GAMES 2023 continued as they shared a point with ASC FC in their last group match of the tournament to keep their semi final dreams alive.
The first half ended in a deadlock with either side not being able to find the back of the net. ASUP Chairman, Eteyen Uko opened the scoring at the 65 minutes by converting a deadball(freekick)from 15 yards out that, frankly, CMA FC keeper, Ifiok Willie should have saved. Willie looked to have thought Uko’s speculative effort was going above the post, but instead it tucked into the roof of the net for ASC FC’s first goal of the tournament.
After the stunning opener by ASC FC, CMA FC came out ‘smoking’ for an equaliser. Their constant knock at the door paid off in the 79 minutes when Itoro Esu opened his tournament account with a clinical, crisply-hit right-footed finish from 25 yards out to keep things level and redeeming his side chances of proceeding to the semi final stage of the competition.
CMA FC will now wait for the result of their final group match between ASC FC and Envr FC before they can confidently book their place in the semis. Dean, School of Communication Arts, Dr. Evans Eshiet had earlier performed the match kick off.
