Any Society that ignores its best brains is bound to stagnate, and may not experience genuine progress. No matter how some people may want to sugarcoat illiteracy and glorify the power of money, the truth is that it is the educated people that influence societal progress and give societies direction. The uneducated may be wealthy, but even his money cannot take him very far without the ideas and support of the educated

WHY SCRABBLE?
Scrabble is a board-and-tile game which involves two to four players competing in word formation using the lettered tiles on a square board. Originally designed by Alfred M. Butts, an architect, in 1931 with the name Criss Cross; it was however redesigned and renamed Scrabble, and marketed by James Brunot in the year 1948.
Reputed as one of the leading board-and-tile game in the United States with tournaments held for players, Scrabble has not received this much attention in Africa and especially Nigeria.
Meanwhile, below are the enormous benefits of encouraging Children and Adults alike to play this beautiful game;

It is towards encouraging the young minds on this plethora of mental, educative and social skill that the Itiat Itiat Christopher MNITP is jumpstarting the maiden edition of the ONNA Inter School Scrabble Competition (OISSC), with amazing prizes to be won.
This lofty project has positive blessings from Dr. Nathaniel Adiakpan, Permanent Secretary Government House and Dr. Ignatius Akpabio, Senior Special Assistant Medical to the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State both of which are leading lights in their chosen career paths.
This Word game shall further add value to the gains already recorded by His Excellency, Mr. Udom Emmanuel in Education and Sports Development tied to his Completion Agenda.
It’s a truism that classroom learning can only receive better comprehension when it is blended with interesting out-of-classroom activities such as Scrabble. The competition is designed to expose the young minds from secondary school age to activities that will help sharpen their academic and social skills.
