2023 : ONNA is in the forefront of Etteh’s HoR Project – Stakeholders

The Peoples Democratic Party stakeholders in ONNA LGA have stated that the people of ONNA are in the forefront to ensure that the PDP Standard Bearer for Eket Federal Constituency, Rt Hon. Okpolupm Etteh succeeds at the poll come 2023.

The stakeholders made this known on Sunday, 23rd October while receiving the House of Representatives hopeful at the party Chairman’s residence in ONNA during a consultative meeting.

Speaking at the event, the chapter Chairman of the party, Barr. Ubong Adiakpan appreciated the PDP hopeful for choosing ONNA as its first port of call, saying that Etteh is a familiar face and that his positive antecedents and attributes are well known in ONNA and has made his job easier.
He added that ONNA is in the forefront of his aspiration of winning the coveted seat at next year’s General election.

In his part, the serving HOR member, Hon. Pat Ifon pointed out that as a party man with vision for the people, it is the duty of the people of ONNA to vote for and ensure he wins and represents the people effectively at the green chamber.
Governor Udom’s Chief Protocol Officer, Mr Edmond Uffang thanked him for the visit, “
We are happy to have our son come to thank us today and we assure him that the same way we supported him at the primaries, we will come all out to do the same for him at the election; We will give our votes to him,” the sport loving protocol chief assured.

The Council boss, Elder IniAbasi Ekanem while aligning with other speakers, said that it will be a one man-one-vote and appealed to the stakeholders and members of the party to go get their PVCs at the designated location.

State party secretary, Hon. Harrison Ekpo assured the immediate past Commissioner for Special Duties of a 100% votes at the election.

Wife of the late former Paramount Ruler, Akwa Obongawan Patience Ukpa who spoke on behalf of the women, affirmed the support of the women of ONNA, but requested that the women shouldn’t be neglected when the former State House Member assumes offices.



Commissioner for Economic Development, Mr Emem Bob reaffirmed of ONNA people to his(Okpolupm Etteh) aspiration, saying that ONNA people will stand by him and make the Governor proud.



The flagbearer while reacting, thanked the people of ONNA for the love shown him and his people and for believing in rotational policy of the party ,he specifically appreciated the Governor for standing by equity and justice, praying God to bless the State Chief Executive and the people of ONNA.
He assured the people of proper and accountable representation when elected into the office.
He said that he will never do anything to hurt the people of ONNA and other LGAs and that by the Mandate given him, he automatically becomes an indigene of the 4 LGAs.



Those who also spoke and in his company were Elder Eddy Etangkanga, PDP Chapter Chairman for Esit Eket, his counterparts from Eket, Obongiwaad Emmanuel Mbong and that of Ibeno, Elder Emma Ibok.



Others include the DG of campaign, Obong Kingsley Etop Mbre, Barr. Akaniyene Idem, PDP ward chair of chairs, among others.



Highpoint of the event was the adoption of the PDP HOR flagbearer by the ONNA Legislative council to an overwhelming applause of the stakeholders.
