MEET & GREET 2022:THE NIGERIAN SOCIETY OF ENGINEERS (NSE) EKET BRANCH ON AN AGGRESSIVE TOUR.
The past few days has been; not just eventful; but fruitful for the Eket branch of The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE). The Engr. Dr. Ekerete Usak led executive, like the biblical Nehemiah; is poised to rebuild, revive and remodel the branch, thus it series of Meet and Greet visits.
Yesterday, 22nd September, 2022 the tour arrived at the residence of Engr. Akaniyene Ekong MNSE FNISafetyE : The National Chairman Institution of Safety Engineers. In the warmth of a homely welcome, the branch chairman Engr. Dr. Ekerete Usak MNSE, appreciated the host, stating that the visit was in keeping to his campaign promises to effectively harness leadership & experience in fostering the growth of the branch.
The chairman spoke on the need for synergy between the older and more experienced engineers within the branch and their younger colleagues. He further call for partnership and support to enable engineers to attend their forthcoming conferences and to facilitate the speedy completion of the NSE Eket Branch Secretariat. In his speech was the call for fraternity and brotherly love.
Responding, Engr. Akaniyene Ekong FNISafetyE, lauded Engr. Dr. Ekerete Usak’s management-leadership-responsibility, commitment, passion and zeal. He thanked the members of the delegation for finding him worthy of such visit and pledges to support the projects at hand, promising safety partnership. Engr. Ekong stated that the need for safety trainings and technical certification cannot be overemphasized as this will improve career prospects of engineers. Engr. Ekong promised to pay a safety assessment visit in company of his team to the secretariat building site.
The NSE Eket Branch were in high praises of Engr. Akaniyene Ekong’s excellence leadership contributions and this was substantiated with the issuance of an award of excellence.
At the residence of Engr. Wale Olanrewaju FNSE, FNIEE & Engr.Mrs. Folake Olanrewaju MNSE the team met a warm welcome and the NSE Eket Branch chairman recounts that he is in leadership to add value. His prayers were the same, he solicited for support to ensure the success of the branch.
In his response, Engr. Wale Olanrewaju described the series of visits as an aggressive start for the engineering year and appreciated God for Engr. Dr. Usak and his team. Engr. Olanrewaju reiterated that transparency and accountability is the key to effective leadership and urges Engr. Dr. Ekerete Usak MNSE to be prudent. He pointed that NSE Eket Branch is on a roadmap to setting the standard that other branches will look up to and emulate and charged the Engr. Usak led administration to keep excellent records for successive administrations to leverage and build on. Engr. Olanrewaju promised to support the branch.
Speaking on behalf of the executive members, Engr. Emmanuel Sam MNSE solicited for synergy and fraternal love between the senior members of the branch and the younger ones, stating that the young engineers are passionate, energetic and active, and should be encouraged to bring these energies to the fore. He appreciated Engr. Olanrewaju’s contribution in terms of counseling & guidance, fatherly and humanistic leadership prowess.

Highpoint of the visit was the presentation of an award of excellence in recognition of his leadership and human capital development within the engineering terrain.
