Goodwill Message from Mr. Emem Almond Bob, Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Economic Development to His Excellency Mr. Udom Emmanuel as Akwa Ibom State celebrates her 35th Anniversary.
On behalf of myself, my dear Wife and family, the Permanent Secretary, Service Directors and the entire Staff Members of the Ministry of Economic Development, I wish to felicitate with His Excellency, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State and the entire Akwa Ibom People, on the occasion of 35th Anniversary of the Creation of Akwa Ibom State.
Since September 23, 1987, Successive Administrations in the state have done their best to set priorities for the development of the newly created Akwa Ibom State and actually moved the State along the path of Sustainable Growth and Development through the Instrument of State Directive Policies and Programmes. At this point, we wish to note the landmark achievements of the present Administration, ably led by His Excellency, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State.
Some of these achievements include:
📎Construction and completion of Ikot Oku Ikono Mega flyover that connects the 3 senatorial districts of Akwa Ibom State.
📎Construction and completion of 10-lanes ring road 3.
📎Construction, completion and inauguration of St. Gabriel Coconut Oil refinery.
📎Construction and 80% completion of Oron Airport road expansion.
📎Launching and implementation of about 1 Bilion Naira Covid 19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (AK-CARES) for those affected by the pandemic including the vulnerable citizens of Akwa Ibom State.
📎Construction of international wing New Terminal building at Victor Attah International Airport/Equipping of the MRO unit of the Airport and others too numerous to mention.
It is on record that these achievements were made under challenging economic situations that characterized your administration since inception, such as the dwindling Statutory Allocation to the State in 2015, the Nation’s Economic Recession in 2016, the COVID-19 economy lockdowns in 2019-2020; and the most recently Russia-Ukraine War.
Your Excellency, we commend the 5 and 8 points Socio-political Agendas of your Administration which help to stabilize the state’s economy during the afore-stated periods of economic uncertainties. Your congealed efforts and achievements will forever remain indelible on the sands of time.
We pray and ask Akwa Abasi Ibom to continue to direct your footsteps for a more visionary leadership as you continue to pilot the affairs of the state while wishing the good people of Akwa Ibom State many more blessings under your Excellent leadership.
