Emem Bob: A Tale of Unification And Deliverance! Part 2
After my article titled “A Tale of Unification And Deliverance.” A friend of mine called me on the phone, enquiring for me to furnish him with reasons that my focus has been on Honourable Emem Almond Bob, the Honourable Commissioner for Economic Development Akwa Ibom state.
As I pondered his question, I remembered that once upon a time my elder brother told his friend that he can not be silenced.
We the ONNA people are known for our outspokenness, for we never suffer silence, be it for good or bad. An age-old, time-tested adage says” Owo Itoko Onna.” Means nobody cheats the ONNA people, Hon. Bob Almond has in his short stint in office bridged a huge gap between the central government of Akwa Abasi Ibom State and the ONNA people, prior to now, nobody has responded consciously to the yearnings and aspirations of the ONNA people, like Him. Almond, true to his name.
He currently is the umbrella tree harnessing the collective dreams of our people into a collective baggage.
His administrative methodology has given key insights that have birthed, the healings, peace and harmony in ONNA today. I honestly, mean no harm in harping particularly on the values he has created for the ONNA people, my voice echoes the gratitude we all want to express at having a plaintive plight in the wilderness responded to resolutely through the exploits of one man.
I have in the past written about Honourable Pat Ifon, Honourable Nse Essien and Mr. Uwem Uquang all of ONNA extract, the saying, all for one, one for all, cannot be overemphasised brother, if charity begins at home, then permit me to laud the efforts of my own, from my home.
