Earlier today, the Ward Center of Awa Ward 4 in ONNA LGA was brimmed with overwhelming PDP faithfuls as the Ward answered the clarion call from the State Chapter of the great party for a simultaneous strategic grassroot mobilization meet as well as sensitization for peace, renewed vigour and unification in preparation for the 2023 general elections.
The Ward Chairman, Evangelist Abraham Duff with due directives from the State Secretary of the Party in Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Harrison Ekpo set the tone of the meet with the admonition to members not to be led astray.
Rt. Hon. Owoidighe Ekpoattai, immediate past Member who represented Eket/ONNA/Esit Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency lend her voice to the call for intensive Continuous Voters Registration exercise and the need for party faithfuls to protect thier Permanent Voters Card. She informed that “without a valid PVC, nobody will be accorded the needed political recognition in the days ahead”.
The Member representing ONNA in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Otuekong Nse Essien revealed that the best report of stewardship he can render would be at the end of his tenure as he has about ten months to go. He pledged the completion of all ongoing projects in the ward, “I’ll be here again to ask for your votes as such I can never disappoint…I can never come back here to ask for your votes if the stadium and the road linking Ikot Udo Esang via Ikot Akpan Nko to Atiamkpat are not done”.
With a resounding applause the Accountant General of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Uwem Andrew-Essien hinted that the incoming governor of Akwa Ibom State is a friend of Awa Ward 4.
“I’m standing here to give you the assurance that the next governor of Akwa Ibom State is Pastor Umo Eno…with him the future is surely going to be brighter than the present” he further promised.
Other dignitaries that addressed the meet were the Political Leader of Awa Ward 4, Hon. Udo Uyoata Ebio; Group Head of Nung Oku Itina, Rt. Hon. Ime Utin; Former Commissioner in AKS, Elder (Barr.) Ime Tim Ekpoattai; Chapter Officer of PDP, Mr. Mmo Williams ; representatives of the political elders, youths and women.
In his remark, Mr. Harrison Ekpo , State Secretary of PDP in Akwa Ibom State called for synergy so that the flagbearers of the party will emerge victorious at the 2023 elections as follows:
President – Alhaji Atiku Abubakar
Governor – Pastor Umo Eno
Senate – Barr. Ekong Samson
House of Representatives – Rt. Hon. Okpolumn Etteh
State House of Assembly – Mr. Sunday Johnny.
He tasked all party faithfuls to be unwavering in their support as the party will relent not in delivering political deliverables to the people.
