David Udonsek Grassroot Football Tournament: Onna Councillors joined spectators in cheering thier teams to victory
The Semi Finals matches actually revealed how the final encounter scheduled for Sunday 2nd of January, 2022 would look like.
Both teams qualified after a keenly contested duel.
Football lovers gathered in their numbers as the four teams battle for final slots.
A literary icon, Mr Don Usoro; Hon. (Mrs) Iniobong Victor, Councillor representing Oniong East 2; Hon. Ekerete Rufus, Councillor representing Awa Ward 3; Rt. Hon. Nsikan Akpan, Councillor representing Oniong West 3; Hon. Udo Mark, former Councillor representing Oniong West 2; Prince Ubong Akpan, Chairman Forum of Ward Chairmen in Onna/Vice Chairman Local Organizing Committee DUGFT; Comrade Christopher James, President Oniong Youth Council and thousands of Spectators joined in watching football at it’s best. All thanks to Ven. David Udonsek for making the yuletide season in Onna colourful.
Awa Ward 6 edged out Awa Ward 4 via penalties 7:6
Oniong East 2 went pass Oniong West 4 in regulation time 3:0
The final encounter will be between Awa Ward 6 and Oniong East 2 by 4pm on the 2nd of January, 2022. The third place match will be by 2pm same day.
