AKWA IBOM TABLE TENNIS ASSOCIATION SET TO BUILD STANDARD TENNIS TRAINING CENTRE
The Akwa Ibom State Table Tennis Association, ably led by Mr Edmond Uffang, has inaugurated a Commitee that will oversee the building and equipping of a Table Tennis Center in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The center which will be situated at the Uyo Township Stadium, Udo Umana Street, will accommodate six standard tennis boards, office space, restrooms, changing rooms, refreshment park…etc.
This was made known when the Board Chairman, Mr Edmond Uffang, inaugurated the Implementation Committee today in Uyo.
According to Mr Edmond, it is his belief that table tennis sport is an important factor in social integration, a source of empowerment and maintained the Board’s resolve to continue to promote the game of pingpong amongst children and youths of Akwa Ibom State.
Mr Edmond Uffang also used the opportunity to inform the Committee of the Board’s preparedness to host an end of the year get-together, where veterans will engage each other in the game of pingpong.
Amongst those inaugurated are; Mr Ikpong Essien-Udom, a former Chairman of NUJ, Coach Alex, who is the Secretary of the Board, Mr Ini Akpan, Mr Ekanem Brown, the immediate past Chairman of Mkpat Enin and Mr Uby Essien.
